Elsewhere, St. Clement (2-0) picked up its second win on the gridiron this fall, toppling Old Colony 35-6 on Sept. 13, 2009 this week, handing Newton South a 13-0 loss on Sept. Nick Olivier scored the game’s first touchdown in the second quarter, after a key interception by John McGreevey. Quarterback Jamey Thompson threw for two touchdowns, while Alberto Lopez  and Julce collected scores on the ground.

Kings Point Crew Parent: Textile River Regatta

After racing on the Harlem and the Connecticut, Kings Point Crew now heads to the Merrimack River in Lowell, Mass for the Textile River Regatta. The Merrimack winds through Lowell, so coxswains and crew must navigate multiple turns or arches down the course. Race information is posted at:

The Textile River Regatta is one of the largest regattas in New England, and there were hundreds of boats racing. It took some serious teamwork just to get them launched as the boat we were borrowing from CRI was on the very top of the largest trailer (of 3 trailers) that they brought, and it was parked next to a telephone pole with wires staking it to the... Normally the TRR is a very well organized and well run regatta but I have to admit that I found it not to be this year. While the official race results aren't posted on Regatta Central yet, we did get some finish results at the venue yesterday. Despite that, as well as the chaos within our own little world of sharing and borrowing equipment (Thank yous to CRI, Wayland/Weston, and Newman School....

Textile River Regatta Re-Cap

The Girls 4’s also had very strong  performances with the “A” boat winning the gold over the top crew from Winsor by 37 seconds and the “B” boat finishing with a Bronze medal. October 3, 2010 — Crews from all four squads traveled to Lowell for the Textile River Regatta, our first of the season. The Novice boys brought three crews, all of which were on their first race of the year, many the first race of their rowing careers. Next up were the Boys and Girls Varsity 4’s, these athletes were on their first race of the day with racing in the 8’s schedule for the afternoon. The Boy’s “A” boat brought home the gold medal by nearly 50 seconds over a crew from Brewster Academy with the “B” boat finishing 8th out of 34 crews....
