What is the history of Guatemalan worry dolls?

I am doing my Spanish project on Guatemalan worry dolls. It is easy to make them, but I didn't know finding information about their history would be so hard. Does anyone know anything about their detailed history?

Guatemala is the college student's Costa Rica

Guatemala’s Cahabón River flows down the tiny valley of Semuc Champey like a shotgun slug. In Guatemala, it takes someone getting killed before they force you to stop doing something awesome. But even Tikal, the granddaddy of Mayan ruins, only recently stopped allowing tourists to ascend its highest ziggurat on the original stone steps…after someone fell down and died. Guides in the modest Semuc Champey take you into the bowels of caves with nothing but a candle and then let you jump into the water from a 30-foot bridge. they stopped when a German died.

The Big Something» The Middle Distance 11/19/10: “Worry Wart”

Morally squishy and given to unreasonable flights of optimism, I fall somewhere between my sister, a worry warrior who doggedly and dogmatically expects the worst, and my mother, a worrier with an eye trained on God’s mercy and the rewards of... Oh, for faith in this season of anxiety, the years of our lives I call The Middle Distance, when our check box on the survey form has, stunningly, evolved to 55 and over, the age of worry. Which of us thought, when we were young mothers, our skin smooth and elastic, our hair dirty from shower deprivation, our children plump and rosy, that we would ever know a more worry-filled time. We worried about anything and everything except the real hazards that faced us down the road, those we could not fathom: divorce, financial collapse, joblessness, aging parents, uncertain futures, sickness and death. We worried habitually about every little thing—mysterious rashes, the quality of pre-school playtime, whether our kids would make it into the prime reading group....

Guatemalan worry dolls

A few people in class have been worrying about different things so this morning we made our own worry dolls and wrote our worries on them. Each person shared their worry and the rest of the class gave them strategies to deal with the worries. We flew over the school, up Kyle Road, over the city and then into the country. We flew over fields of different and beautiful coloured flowers, over the gentle green sea, then over the blue foamy This blog has been established so that all children from Upper Harbour Primary School can share their learning with the wider school community and other schools in the world. The worry dolls are in book bags ready to go under pillows tonight. Then we sat on the mat....

Ruiz representing Union in Gold Cup: A fan's take It was a well-played game by the Guatemalans, as for a time near the end the team was down not just one but two players for red card violations. The next game for the Guatemalan team is being held on Friday June 10 against Jamaica.
